Mocs Prepare For Top Ranked New Hampshire in FCS Quarterfinals

The Chattanooga Mocs didn’t get much of a reward for their first ever playoff victory.
The win over Indiana State earned UTC a quarterfinal round match-up against the top team in the nation.
After claiming the school’s first ever playoff win Saturday, head coach Russ Huesman felt he needed to take his team’s pulse.
"I’m not even sure if they know they’re in the playoffs right now to be honest with you. After that win, I was the most excited one because we won a playoff game."
Said defensive Keionta Davis,"Oh yeah, he came up to me and jumped on my back telling me it’s a great win. So yeah, he was definitely the most excited compared to the rest of us."
Said fullback Taharin Tyson,"I have a couple of screen savers on my computer of coach (going crazy). It’s a joke, but it’s pretty cool that he gets so excited."
Huesman admits his excitement waned when he started watching New Hampshire, a team that sacked the quarterback nine times last week.
"Put New Hampshire’s defense on. First play sack. Second play penalty. Third play sack. Fourth play tackle for a loss. It was a mad dash to the quarterback for awhile. I think I quit watching it because I got depressed."
The Mocs may not know a lot about New Hampshire, but the Wildcats are ranked number one in the country.
Said Huesman,"If there are eight teams left, and you’re in the quarterfinals, you’re probably playing somebody pretty good. I think everybody in this room understands that, and I know our players do."
Said Tyson,"They’re the number one team in the nation. There’s a chance to come out and possibly make a statement. Playing on ESPN2. We’re the only game on that Friday night. That’s exciting in itself."
But how do the Mocs match-up against the top ranked Wildcats?
Reporter-"Do you like the way your team matches up against New Hampshire?"
Said Huesman,"Some I do. Some I don’t. I’m not going to tell you which ones I do, and which ones I don’t. I can tell you this. I like our team. I like our athletic ability."
