Mocs Quarterback Cole Copeland Suspended for 2018 Season

What a blow for the Mocs football team.
With practice set to begin next week, head coach Tom Arth confirms that quarterback Cole Copeland has been suspended for the entire season. It’s reportedly for academics. Despite the suspension, Copeland will still be able to practice with the team. The former Bradley County high school star wound up starting six games last season as a true freshman, where he threw for over 1,100 yards with seven touchdowns. This is the second year in-a-row that UTC has lost their starting quarterback just prior to the season. Last year, Alejandro Bennifield was suspended for the Mocs first four games just a couple of days before the season opener.
