Mocs Shots Don’t Drop in 64-43 Loss to Furman
(gomocs.com)The Chattanooga Mocs’ Women’s Basketball team dropped a 64-43 contest inside McKenzie Arena to the visiting Furman Paladins on Thursday night.
With the loss, the Mocs drop to 7-21 overall and 5-8 in the league while Furman moves to 16-11, 9-4 SoCon.
The Mocs were down 34-15 at the break and were unable to cut the deficit to single digits in the second half. Dena Jarrells led the Mocs with 13 points and Karsen Murphy capped off a double-double with a three-pointer in the final seconds posting 12 points and 11 rebounds. Addie Grace Porter put up a game and career-high 13 boards. Chattanooga shot just 21 percent for the game, including 7 of 31 behind the arc.
UTC returns to the roundhouse for the regular-season finale vs. Wofford on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 1:30 p.m. Prior to the game, the Mocs will honor senior Pare Pene who will play her final game in the Roundhouse.
