Mocs Sixth Year Senior David Jean Baptiste Prepares For Final Home Game
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) It’s the last hurrah for Mocs senior guard David Jean Baptiste Saturday. Baptiste and the rest of the UTC seniors will be honored since Chattanooga is playing their final home game of the year. Baptiste has been a Moc for six years. He’ll leave as the school’s fourth all-time leading scorer. Baptiste admits that Saturday’s farewell won’t be easy.
Said Baptiste:”Emotions. It’s going to be amazing man. Just knowing six years with UTC. The ups and downs. The city stick with us. The fans stuck behind us every step of the way. Supported me and my fellow teammates. It was an awesome six years. It’s going to be bitter sweet man. Even though this will be my goodbye, I think at the end of the day I had fun throughout my time here, so it’s going to be bittersweet.”
It’s a double-header Saturday at McKenzie Arena. The UTC women will tip against Wofford at 1:30pm with the Chattanooga men entertaining Samford at 4pm.
