Mocs Softball Team Looks to Claim SoCon Title During Final Weekend Series

Chattanooga-(WDEF) The Chattanooga Mocs softball team closes our their regular season this weekend by hosting Samford.

It’ll be a rare home date for UTC.

Thanks to snow and rain, Chattanooga has played only six home games this season.

Mocs need some homefield advantage this weekend.

They need to win two of three against Samford to claim the SoCon regular season title.

And the weather actually looks good for this big home series.

Said infielder Nikki Osterman,"The weather has really taken its toll on us, but i feel like we’re going to be okay, and we’re going to able to make a really good adjustment."

Said head coach Frank Reed"We take care of those two games, I feel really, really good about it. We’re at home, so it should give us a little bit of an advantage."
Chattanooga and Samford play at 7pm on Saturday, and then they have a doubleheader starting at 1pm on Sunday.
