Mocs Tennis Rides Historic Title Into SoCon Tournament

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Mocs tennis team begins play in the SoCon tournament Thursday at the Champions Club. Plenty of buzz for UTC since they won the regular season conference title for the first time in school history. Nice confidence boost ahead of the league tournament.

Said head coach Chuck Merzbacher:”Yeah I think the guys are playing really well. Obviously they’re on a high. They accomplished something very special. Something historic. And now we’ve just got to go play hopefully three matches and extend the season in the NCAA’s. We’re going to give it our best.”

UTC is schedule to open tournament play Thursday morning against UNCG.

Merzbacher has been

named the SoCon Coach of the Year.
