Mocs Transfer Silvio De Sousa Digging Chattanooga

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) So how did the gifted 6’9 Silvio De Sousa come out of the transfer portal from blue blood Kansas to Chattanooga?

Said head coach Lamont Paris:”Well it came down to us and Kansas out of high school. Nah. It didn’t. I’m really good friends with their coaching staff in particular one of their assistants. So when the time came, it just kind of came up in conversation. It was a lot of the things he wanted. We throw the ball around the basket to our bigs normally, so that probably didn’t hurt either.”

Said De Sousa:”I didn’t even know where Chattanooga used to be. You know man it’s crazy. I want even talk about sports wise. I’m just going to talk about how loved I feel here. Man. People are amazing. The mountains and all kinds of things here. The weather is dope.”

De Sousa’s game is dope.

Said forward Avery Diggs:”He’s just super strong and athletic. He just comes out of no where sometimes and just grabs the rebound. Somebody will shoot the shot at practice and you will turn around and he’s not coming. All of a sudden you try to go to the ball, and he’s right over your head. All of a sudden he’s grabbing it, and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

Said Paris:”We’re happy to have him that’s for sure.”

I bet you are. And you know what? De Sousa is happy to be right here in the Scenic City.

Said De Sousa:”This is the first time in my life I felt like nobody looks at me like I’m a celebrity. The way it was in Kansas. That’s something I appreciate. Just everybody looks at me like I’m a normal person.”

And we can all appreciate a normal person who enjoys Nerds candy after a tough game.

Said De Sousa:”I love sugar. After every game or after every practice. Game or practice I have to have some kind of sugar. You know Nerds. They’re my favorite. I love them.”
