Mom to Mom – Fizzy Toilet Bomb

Today on Mom to Mom, we are making fizzy toilet bombs.

Fizzy toilet bombs are super fun to make, helps keep your toilets clean in between those cleanings, and it smells really good too. So, what you’re going to need to make these guys are a fun silicone mold. You can get those anywhere. Whatever kind you like. Baking soda, some citric acid. You’re also going to need some white vinegar and some hydrogen peroxide. I like to do lavender oil just so it gives that little extra smell to make it smell really good in the house. So, how to make this, you’re going to take a cup of baking soda and pour it into your mixing dish. Then you’re going to take one fourth of cup of your citric acid. I actually found this one on Amazon. But you can find them in the cleaning supplies area. Then you are going to mix that together with a fork to kind of get the clumps out of the baking soda.

Then you’re going to take half a teaspoon of vinegar and put it into a separate dish. Then you’re going to take one tablespoon of your hydrogen peroxide and mix those two together. Now you’re going to take that solution and kind of slowly pour into the baking soda and citric acid just because if you pour it in too fast, then it’s just going to bubble up and go over. So, you want to kind of do it slowly. Once that’s mixed, you’re going to take 15 to 20 drops of your lavender, put it in there, then you’re ready to stick it in your mold. Do this at night so you can let these guys sit overnight. It takes about six hours and they do expand a little bit. So don’t fill it up all the way. Once you’re done, you can throw it into the toilet and watch the fun begin and it smells so good. These guys last about three months. If you have any other wonderful ideas, we’d love to try them out.
