Mom to Mom – Paw Print Wall Art
Today on Mom to Mom, we are making paw print wall art.
We love our fur babies. And if you have an especially older dog, much like myself, you want to have something to remember them by when the time comes for them to pass on. I came across this idea and absolutely loved it.
It’s called paw print wall art, and what I decided to do is take my own hand and put it on some watercolor paper, and then I wanted to do my dog’s paw print and put it on top of mine. You can do this in whatever way that you want to. If you have kids, you can get the whole entire family’s handprint and then do the dog print.
In order to do this, I like to use the water-based paint because it’s non-toxic. Or if you want to get your dog’s paw print, you can put their paw in some water, dry it off just a little bit and press it on the paper to where you can get a wet outline and then paint it by hand yourself. They also make non-toxic stamp pads as well. I chose to use the water-based paint.
You want to do this outside! You are going to need some help because our fur babies tend to wiggle and move all around, so it makes it a little bit difficult to get their paw print. I also use a spoon of peanut butter to keep them still.
Once you put the paint on their paw and you press it on the paper where you want it, then you’re going to take their paw and immediately put it in some water nearby and wash it off. It’s easy to come off and they don’t mind the treat.
Once you’re done, you have this beautiful work of art that you can either hang up in your house or just keep it somewhere close by, so you have all those wonderful memories and something to remember them by when they’re no longer with us.
I absolutely love this idea, and hopefully you do too. If you have any wonderful ideas, share it with us and post it to our Facebook page and we’ll see you on the next Mom to Mom!
