Mom to Mom – Teacher Gift
Today on Mom to Mom, we’ve got a cute DIY teacher appreciation gift.
We love our teachers. So, whether you just started back in school, or you’ve been in for quite some time, what we like to give our teachers appreciation gifts throughout the year. So, what we’re going to do today is make these cute little apple jars that the teachers can sit on the desk. So, all you’re going to need is a terracotta pot, some paint, whether it’s spray paint or just regular red paint, some pencils, some green felt and scissors, a hot blue gun, and of course a candy of your choice. So, what we’re going to do, we’re going to start with our terracotta pot and just paint it. I like to use spray paint, but you can use regular paint if you will. Now, once you have that spray painted, let that dry for a little bit. Then we can start on our lids, which most of the terracotta pots come with the saucers, but you can buy them separately.
It goes right over the top. You’re going to take your pencil. It can kind of just cut it towards the end. Now I like to make like a little indention and then I kind of just snap it on the side of the counter and then we will take the hot glue gun and just kind of glue it to the top of the lid. Let that dry for a little bit. Then we’re going to take our felt and kind of cut some corners to make a leaf. I like to do two. Then we’re going to hot glue those guys on top, let it sit for a few minutes. Once that’s done our terracotta pot that looks like an apple is ready to give to the teacher, you just throw the candy that you wished to put in there and take it to the teacher. She’ll absolutely love it. It can sit on the end of her desk where she can have a sweet treat whenever she’s stressed out or she just wants something sweet. Or maybe the kiddos would like some as well, moms, if you have any wonderful ideas for these teachers, please share them on our Facebook page and we’ll see you on the next Mom to Mom.
