Mom to Mom – Turkey Pumpkin
Today on Mom to Mom, we have a super cute idea for those leftover pumpkins from Halloween!
We are turning your leftover pumpkins from Halloween into cute little turkeys that your kids are absolutely going to love, and you can actually use this for your decorations at the Thanksgiving Day table.
You’re going to need small or miniature pumpkins; some brown, orange, red, and yellow foamy paper; some leaves either from the yard or the craft store; colorful feathers from the craft store; googly eyes; and your hot glue gun.
Let’s put these cute little guys together! It’s fun and easy enough that you can grab your kids and have them make the turkeys with you!
First, cut the turkey’s head and feet out of the brown foam, then cut the gobbler out with red foam. You’ll also cut out a little beak with yellow foam.
Once you have all your pieces and parts cut, then you can start hot gluing them together! This is probably where you want to help the kids out, just because it’s a little bit hot.
Glue the googly eyes to the turkey’s head and glue the beak right underneath the eyes. Then glue the gobbler next to the beak. Now that the turkey’s head is created, glue it to the stem of the pumpkin. Glue the turkey’s feet to the front of the pumpkin. Grab your feathers or leaves and glue those to the back of the pumpkin.
The kids like to have a lot of fun with this one, so let them pick however many leaves or feathers they want to put on the back. I like to use about four leaves, but it just depends.
Once everything has dried, you have your cute little pumpkin to set at the Thanksgiving dinner table!
Moms, if you have any cute ideas, we’d love to hear about it! We’ll see you on the next Mom to Mom!
