Mom To Mom – Workout With Kids

Today on Mom to Mom, I've got a fun and easy workout to do with your kids.

Sometimes working out at home is extremely difficult, especially with kids around. A lot of times they just want to do it with you so why not incorporate it? I’ve got four fun, easy moves that you can do with them inside or outside.

The first one is called copycat. It’s basically just like it. Sounds you get your child to copy everything you do. So, this would be good warmup. You can get them to do arm circles, touch their toes, jumping jacks, but you also want to allow them to have a turn as well so they can choose the type of moves that we are to copycat.

The next one is leapfrog. If you don’t remember how to do this one, you basically just leap over your child and then have them do the same.

The third one is called a patty cake push-up. Now it’s not likely that your child will be able to do a push-up, so you can show them how to do one from their knees. You perform a push-up each time you push-up from the ground, reach one hand to your child’s same hand, and that’s where you will play patty cake with them.

And the last one is called stop, go, up, down. It sounds confusing, but it’s actually really easy, and I want you to have a lot of fun with this one. One of you is the leader and one of you is the mover. So, when the leader yells stop, the mover goes. When the leader yells go, the mover stops. When the leader yells up, the mover squats down. When the leader yells down, the mover reaches up.

Hopefully these exercises will create a little bonding time between you and your kiddos and make working out at home a little bit easier. Moms, if you have any great ideas, we’d love to hear them. You can post them to our Facebook page, and we’ll see you on the next Mom to Mom.
