Monroe County man sentenced to prison on child rape charges
MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Tellico Plains man recently pled guilty to six counts of raping a child.
Brandon Wesley Lethco, 36, pled guilty on Monday, January 22, according to District Attorney Shari Tayloe.
He was sentenced to 25 years in prison, which will be served at 100%, the DA added.
“There is no place for criminals who abuse the innocence of a child within our community,” DA Tayloe said. “My office will continue to pursue these heinous acts with full force. I want to commend the hard work of my ADAs and law enforcement for bringing justice for this young victim.”
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Child Services worked this case. Assistant DAs General Dorothy Cherry and Connaught O’Conner led the prosecution.
“No child should have to endure the pain of a case like this,” DA Tayloe added. “While we cannot give back what was taken from any victim, we will continue to seek justice in every case, especially in cases where children are abused.”
