Montague Park lights up for the SeaLights Festival

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – For the first time in Chattanooga, The SeaLight Festival is filling Montague Park full of colorful, handmade silk Chinese lantern displays.
After several years of declaring New York home, The SeaLight Festival is now traveling around the U.S. After visiting Atlanta and Washington D.C., the festival finds its way to Chattanooga for a the spring. The event kicks off on February 20 and will run through April 20 on Thursdays through Sundays.
The walkthrough display will tell a story of Chinese mythology and showcase the bright, beautiful colors of nature. It features massive sculptures made from just Chinese silk and steel frames, bringing many creatures to life at night.
The festival truly comes together toward the end of the walk, as the Zigong Acrobatic Troupe will be performing show stopping acts of acrobatics, juggling, face-changing, and more. Different multi-cultural booths will be around to continue the colorful experience.
