MORE: Law enforcement investigating suspicious social media post
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and East Ridge Police are releasing more information on possible school threats.
According to the joint press release, law enforcement were made aware of a meme on social media Monday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. that parents and students perceived as a threat.
All three law enforcement agencies have been investigating.
Law enforcement says a local female juvenile has been identified as the creator of the meme and charges will be filed against hr in juvenile court for filing a false report as police say her actions caused great community alarm.
Officials say no real threat was viable.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Chattanooga Police Department, and East Ridge Police Department say any and all threats or perceived threats will be investigated and any one participating in creating hoaxes and threats will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Law enforcement says additional hoax threats have been made and a male juvenile suspect from a different school is also in custody on similar juvenile court charges.

According to police, a Snapchat post contained no threats of violence but warned student not to go to school on Tuesday.
Chattanooga Police say the user’s name on Snapchat is JayNBee.
Police say additional officers will be at schools today for extra security to ease concerns of parents and students.
Investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department are working with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement partners working to determine who made the post.
