More local crews to help South Carolina
Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga Fire Department Special Operations Captain David Tallent deployed Thursday morning to help with South Carolina flooding.
He’ll be the new Task Force Leader; replacing the one that has been deployed since last Saturday.
Also, a new Bradley County swift water boat team is deploying Friday morning.
It’s made up of Bradley County and Cleveland Firefighters.
They’re replacing the Bradley County boat team already there helping.
Floodwaters are expected to crest Saturday and breach the dams causing more flooding.
These new deployments will relieve teams already there that have already helped save hundreds of lives.
The deployments are part of the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association/Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office/Tennessee Emergency Management Agency joint statewide mutual aid system.
