More Parking Coming to Chattanooga Airport

Officials at the Chattanooga Airport plan to create more customer parking at the commercial terminal.
The project starts with the demolition of an old hangar that was built in 1951.
Losing the hangar will allow the airport to create about 300 new parking spaces.
They also will use the space to replace the parking revenue equipment.
The Airport’s president says more people are looking for parking space each year.
“Our primary focus this year is parking lot improvements,” Terry Hart said. “In addition to the new parking lot, customers will see several changes to the existing parking lots including covered walkways and more reliable payment equipment at the exit gates, including a mobile payment option. Our goal is to create a better overall parking experience for our customers this year.”
The work will begin this spring and hopefully be ready for the public by the fall.
