More To The Story With Staley: The Museum you didn’t know we had
Everlasting Nation Museum in Hixson tells the story of Israel and the Jewish faith
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – It’s a facility that sits just off of Highway 153 and Hamil Road in Hixson. It’s been here since 2019. It’s called the “Everlasting Nation Museum.” Many folks might not realize it’s even here. But yes, it’s a museum.
It’s a museum that takes you through the history of Israel. And the biblical history of the Jewish faith.
BRAD BLANTON, MUSEUM TOUR GUIDE;
“As far as we know, we are unique as far as area museums. Because we deal with Jewish and biblical history. I don’t know about another Holocaust museum here in our area.”
Of all the sections in this museum, the section dealing with the Holocaust is the largest. And it appears to be the most popular.
Brad Blanton says people touring the Holocaust exhibit appear to be thankful for the artifacts. And it’s deep meaning.
“People seem to be moved by that. Just the other day, I went in to check on folks and see if they had any questions. They were sitting in the section. And they were almost in tears. They were just overwhelmed by what was going on.”
The museum is also used as a teaching tool for students. For example, showing the common background between Christianity and Judaism.
Ed Frampton has been the museum president for 16 years. He’s proud of its quality.
ED FRAMPTON, MUSEUM PRESIDENT;
“I’ve looked at a lot of other museums. I’ve been to Israel. Although it’s maybe not the size of others, the quality of our museum is right up there with other museums.”
The museum is open 9-to-4 Monday through Friday. Closed on holidays and the weekend. Head to their website for more.
