Morning robbery ends with one man shot

Police responded to the convenience store at the corner of Cloud Springs and Scruggs at around 3:40 this morning after receiving reports of shots fired.  When they arrived, they found one man that had been shot in the leg with an injury that they described as non life threatening.

When the two suspects arrived at the convenience store, police say while in most robberies the gun is used as a scare tactic, these two came in and shot the customer without a second thought.

After the customer was shot, then they made their way inside and robbed another customer inside the store before letting him leave.

The men demanded all of the money from the cash register and grabbed a hand full of lottery tickets before making their escape.

When the men exited the store, the injured customer had gotten into his vehicle and was driving away and the men opened fired on him once more hitting the vehicle multiple times before making their way across Cloud Springs Road on foot where police believe they may have had a getaway car waiting.
