Morning Round-up: Stop the Violence Rallies Planned in Chattanooga

Stop the Violence rallies will take place today throughout Chattanooga. Local pastors plan to lead the campaign to urge gang members to stop shooting and recognize we’re all in the same gang — the human race. One rally will be at the Brainerd Rec Center this evening at 5:30.

Chattanooga hosts the fifth annual Tennessee Bike Summit, as government and transportation officials explore the role bicycling plays in improving public health, spurring economic development, and creating vibrant neighborhoods.

Several Earth Day events highlight today’s calendar. BlueCross BlueShield holds a shredding event at the Gateway building at 401 M L King Boulevard.
A local hospital also plans to plant trees and Chattanooga State will unveil a solar powered picnic table.
