“Most Wanted” TennCare fraud suspect accused of keeping benefits after moving to Georgia

Sara Crawford lived in Chattanooga before moving

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Tennessee Office of Inspector General have charged a former Chattanooga woman who was on the Most Wanted List for TennCare fraud.

34 year old Sara Crawford was on the list for 3 months.

Investigators say she kept making TennCare claims even after moving out of the state.

They say they paid more than $18,397 in fees and claims on her behalf.

“The primary requirement for TennCare eligibility is that a recipient must be a resident of the State of Tennessee,” Inspector General Chad Holman said. “The Office of Inspector General remains committed to identifying, investigating, and seeking the accountability of those who commit fraud against or abuse the TennCare program.”
