Motorcycle driver charged after early morning chase on Highway 27

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – Deputies have charged an early morning motorcycle driver in Hamilton County after a high-speed chase.

The deputy tried to stop Nicholas Mullins for speeding up to 100 miles an hour on Highway 27 around 6 a.m., but the bike fled.

The sheriff’s office said during the chase, the driver made reckless lane changes that caused other drivers to swerve to miss him.

They say he eventually exited at Manufacturers Road and into Astec Industries where he worked.

Mullins was arrested inside after a brief search.

He faces charges of evading, reckless endangerment and speeding.
