Motorcyclist dies after Lee Highway crash, Chattanooga Police say

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A man died in a motorcycle crash that happened earlier this month, according to Chattanooga Police.

The police department said the crash happened on March 9, just before 4:30 p.m. at 9300 Lee Highway.

CPD said a 20-year-old man, who they have not identified, was driving the motorcycle.

Upon police arrival, the motorcyclist had serious injuries.

A 60-year-old woman was driving a Mercury Grand Marquis east on Lee Highway. She attempted to turn left onto Ooltewah-Georgetown Road when she crashed into the motorcycle, CPD said. They added that the man was thrown off of the motorcycle.

CPD’s Traffic Unit recently learned that the motorcyclist died at a hospital from his injuries.

The incident is still under investigation.
