HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — On Saturday, a man fled from Hamilton County police and crashed his vehicle. They say he is facing multiple charges.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said they attempted a traffic stop on Saturday. They said it was near the 7000 block of East Brainerd Road.

Steven Addison, 44, refused to stop, police said.

They said he led them on a pursuit. The pursuit went into Catoosa County, Georgia.

HCSO said the man crashed his vehicle in a secluded, wooded area. He then fled on foot.

Police searched for Addison for about 45 minutes. They later found him in a body of water, HCSO said. Additionally, they heard him shouting for help.

Officers helped Addison out of the water, and he was taken to a medical facility. Medical personnel treated him to prevent hypothermia and monitor his condition.

On Sunday, Addison was released from the medical facility. HCSO said he was then booked into Silverdale Detention Center.

They say he is facing these charges:

  • Misuse of vehicle registration
  • Felony evading
  • Reckless driving
  • Driving on a revoked license
  • Financial responsibility

The HCSO also said various local police departments and emergency personnel provided assistance.
