Murder for hire arrest in East Ridge about race
East RIDGE, Tennessee(WDEF) – A North Georgia man is behind bars in Hamilton County for an alleged murder for hire plot.
Joshua Patterson, 37, of Catoosa County has been charged with solicitation to commit murder.
According to the arrest affidavit, Patterson offered to pay money to have a boy killed. Patterson suspected the boy was dating his daughter and reportedly didn’t approve of the relationship because the boy is African American.
According to the boys mother, Patterson reportedly said he was going to "tie her son behind a truck and drag him down the road like they use to do niggers back in the day."
Also in the report, Patterson is accused of having a telephone conversation where he reportedly said he would pay $400 to "get that nigger and put him in a hole."
A judge set Patterson’s bond at $100,000
