NASCAR Driver Austin Dillon Recalls His Scary Ride at Daytona

NASCAR driver Austin Dillon has to be one of the luckiest men alive after surviving that wild crash at Daytona when his car sailed into the catch fence. Dillon describes what it was like from the driver’s seat.

"Kind of was talking to myself the whole time actually just hold on, you’re almost through it. Different impacts throughout the wreck. The verocity and the violence of the wreck is hard even now to look at. It’s just a wicked crash. The crew guys got to the car really quick. That’s when I knew it was over. They were there, and I was letting them know I was okay. I wanted to get out of the car. That was the next big thing. That’s what gives me the confidence to get back in the car when you can wreck at that kind of speed, and knowing that’s probably going to be one of the hardest hits you can take. Most violent wreck I’ve seen. Gives you the confidence to get back in there and drive hard and race around those guys."
Dillon will race this weekend at Kentucky.
