Nashville unveils major redevelopment plan for the East Bank
NASHVILLE (WDEF) – Chattanooga has it’s South Broad District plan.
Today Nashville learned of a major development plan of it’s own.
The plan is to redevelop hundreds of acres of land on the East Bank of the Cumberland River.
And for a city that has seen a lot of changes, Planners call it this largest redevelopment in the Nashville’s history.
It includes a pier and boat dock, parks, greenways and bike trails.
The area was already being redrawn thanks to Oracle moving in and a pedestrian bridge planned to connect the East Bank to Germantown.
The plan includes a 15-acre high-density mixed-use development at the current TA Truck Stop.
It also could include a Titans Stadium Village. The housing area would be built on old parking lots from Nissan Stadium that the Titans say they will return to the city when they build a new facility.
The “Imagine East Bank” proposal has been in the works for 18 months. There is no price tag for it yet.
The next step is sharing the vision with the public at a series of input sessions this month.
