National fried chicken day at Champy’s

CHATTANOOGA Tenn. (WDEF) – Thursday is national fried chicken day, and what better way to celebrate than with some fried chicken. “Champy’s World Famous Fried Chicken” was just the place to go.

Katie Raabe, manager at Champy’s, said “this store opened in 2009 and it was just our two owners and they ran this whole thing. They focused on fresh, hot, fried chicken and friendly customer service all the time, and that’s still what we focus on today.”

She has worked there since college and believes they have the best fried chicken. She said “I’m a little biased obviously, but I have had ones in Knoxville that are really popular. And I’m like, I really think ours is better and I think the freshness goes a long way too. When its coming out super hot and you know it was just freshly breaded and fried and everything, it really makes a difference.”

Champy’s has been on MLK Boulevard since 2009 and there is a reason people keep coming back.

“I feel like a lot of people respect what we are about. We have the same kind vibe and everything we’ve had since we first started, and to see how far Champy’s has grown now,” according to Raabe.

Champy’s will be opening their 10th location in Cleveland, Tennessee very soon.
