Nationally Ranked Bradley Central Enjoying Another Dominating Season
Cleveland, TN-(WDEF-TV) The Bradley Central girls basketball team is currently ranked 5th in the nation by Max-Preps.
The Bearettes are loaded, and they’re making a run for their third consecutive state title.
And who knows, they could go down as one of the best girls teams this area has ever seen.
Just how good is Bradley Central right now?
Said Reuter:”Just about everybody in the country would trade teams with me yes.”
That’s not bragging either.
The Bearettes pretty much roll out a complete team.
Said Reuter:”Malia Wilcox averages four points a game for us, but she doesn’t turn the ball over. Got a great shooter in Avary Brewer. She’s in the top handful of shooters I’ve ever coached. Got Harmonie Ware who is going to Arkansas, who can play inside-out. She’s a match-up nightmare. Then you’ve got Kimora and TaTianna. TaTianna is the best defensive player that I’ve ever coached. And then Kimora set the TSSAA field goal percentage record in one season last year.”
Said Brewer:”It’s so fun. We are so blessed to have all of these good players at the right time.”
It is fun. But the expectations are kind of high as everyone expects Bradley Central to win it all again.
Ware:”At was at Ulta a couple of days ago. A couple of fans from Bradley Central came up to me. They were talking to me. They were like. Do you think y’all will win again? I was like yeah, probably. I mean I’ve got confidence in my team.”
The Bearettes are getting invites to prominent national tournaments, including one next week in Orlando.
Reuter:”It’s flattering when you have people inviting you and actually giving you money and hotel rooms and meal money. That doesn’t happen a lot in girls basketball.”
After winning the their second straight title last year, Coach Reuter broke down and let the girls choose the color of their shoes this year. Here you go.
Reuter:”Kind of a highlighter green. They grew on me a little bit.”
Brewer:”Normally he doesn’t let us get colored shoes, but this year he let us. He’s getting soft.”
Reuter:”I showed them to them. They said let’s go with this. I said you better play your butts off. When you walk out with green shoes, you’re going to catch some attention.”
