Neighbor reports porch pirate activity in St. Elmo

He has video of a vehicle that seems to be following delivery trucks

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – According to a neighbor in Saint Elmo, a porch pirate is back on the prowl.

He is sharing home surveillance footage.

You can see the pirate taking a package from the neighbor’s home to his car.

That same person is seen driving up and down the street near 42nd and Alabama, possibly following U-P-S trucks.

The resident, who didn’t want to speak on-camera, says neighbors need to do a better job of helping neighbors.

“I think it would be more of a community-led effort to see what we can do, you know, whether it’s Highland Park, North Shore, St. Elmo, you know, to kind of find out how do we … how do we deter these kinds of things from happening?”

The neighbor was home with her two-year-old son when the package was taken from her doorstep.

It was for her son’s birthday.

That is just low down.

Chattanooga police are investigating.
