New Driving to a Cure plate design available to Tennesseans

Tn License Plate

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) released a new license plate design for Tennesseans on Monday.

The new plate design is meant to promote breast cancer awareness. Funds will go toward breast cancer screening services.

The Department calls it the ‘Driving to a Cure’ license plate.

It supports the TDH‘s Breast and Cervical Screening Program, which helps un- and under-insured women access screenings and diagnostic services.

The new design is available now. There is a fee of $61.50 annually for this plate design. Drivers can register for this plate in-person at any Tennessee Court Clerk’s office.

Those who already have a Driving to a Cure plate can receive the new design when they renew their vehicle registration.

In 2022, the Driving to a Cure plate raised $145,000. These proceeds went to breast cancer screenings for eligible women.

“Early cancer detection can often mean beating a cancer diagnosis,” Health Commissioner Ralph Alvarado said. “This specialty license plate adds another component to our intervention efforts to prevent breast cancer deaths in Tennessee.”
