New educational activities for World Quantum Day
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — EPB of Chattanooga and Qubitekk are hosting more than a month of educational activities to celebrate World Quantum Day.
It will begin on World Quantum Day, which is Friday, April 14.
“Gig City Goes Quantum” will kick off at 10 a.m. on Friday at Chattanooga State Community College. It will feature a discussion on ‘The Coming Quantum Age’ by Qubitekk President, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder Dr. Duncan Earl.
Then, at 1:30 p.m., Tyner Academy will host an ‘EPB Future Ready Institute of Technology and Networking.’ The event will not be open to the public but will be livestreamed on their new website.
There will be other livestream and in-person events on April 17, 19 and 21 at UTC. These will be over quantum computing, quantum networking and quantum sensing, respectively.
EPB and Qubitekk teamed up to create a new website, GigCityGoesQuantum.com. It is an interactive website with over 1,000 learning activities for people of all ages.
They ask all website users to register their participation. Those who do will be entered for a chance to win an Echo Show 10.
“We are fortunate students in our public schools have instant access to this cutting-edge technology, which will not only benefit this rapidly emerging economic sector but also enhance our workforce,” said Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp.
