New information on the child death linked to an adult suicide Monday
Child was in foster care at the time of the injury

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Medical Examiner’s report gives new information on the death of a two year old child back in September and the death of the woman accused of abusing him.
Vincent Carter died from injuries he suffered on September 10th.
A Medical Examiner’s report finished on Saturday ruled the case a homicide and police issued child abuse warrants against 62 year old Debra Barnes.
But her body was found in a Hamilton Place parking lot on Monday after an apparent suicide.
The M-E’s report reveals that the boy was in foster care at the time.
It says a nurse reported that he had suffered a head trauma.
After an examination, the Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries to the head and neck.
The charges against Barnes were Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Child Abuse and Aggravated Child Neglect.
