New opioid recovery center opens in Hixson

HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) — A new opioid recovery center opened in Hixson on Wednesday. ReVIDA Recovery Centers offers medications for those struggling with opioid use disorder.

ReVIDA also offers therapeutic services to help residents recover from addiction.

Community members gathered Wednesday at the opening of the new facility. Guests also discussed a need for more recovery options in the Chattanooga area, according to ReVIDA.

ReVIDA stated that Hamilton County has one of the top five highest prescription rates for opioid pain medicine in the state.

Additionally, fentanyl-related death percentages have increased more than 30% in the last six years.

The organization says medications for opioid use disorder improve chances of survival, keep people in treatment and decrease opioid consumption.

ReVIDA Recovery Centers said it accepts most major health insurance, including TennCare.

Anyone struggling with opioid addiction should seek help.
