New riverboat sets sail in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga welcomes American Cruise Lines on the Tennessee River. 

 Their newest riverboat is called the American Serenade.

“American cruise lines which is the company operating American serenade. It is one of our newest river boats. They offer cruises all over the country. They are 100% domestic and wh we focus on our destination cruises with adventures with on shore every day and different experiences in each port, ” said Alexa Paolella, Public Relations for American Cruise lines. 

The American Serenade first docked at the O’Neal Harbor in Florence, Alabama Monday morning. 

 However, passengers can expect great offers. 

 “So, this particular itinerary which is a week-long Tennessee Rivers Cruise,” said Paolella. “Stops in Paducah, Savannah, Florence Decatur. They cruise Lake Barkley and the Cumberland river, so in each port we do something different. We usually have morning excursions and afternoon excursions.” 

 The riverboat can hold up to 180 guests. 

 Cruises typically last eight days. 

But, according to their website, cruise prices start around $4,000.

“In either departure city, either in Nashville or Chattanooga, we offer a really special two-day pre cruise in Nashville at the grand old Opry, with a stay at the Gaylord resort and convention Center,” said Paolella.
