New UTC chancellor recommended to UT Board of Trustees
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Dr. Lori Mann Bruce has been recommended by UT System President Randy Boyd to become the next chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC).
The UT Board of Trustees will consider the appointment at a special meeting in the coming weeks.
If approved, Bruce will begin her role on June 30, 2025.
At Tennessee Tech, she oversaw academic operations and helped increase research funding.
Bruce also led campus improvements and launched new programs aligned with workforce needs.
She previously served in leadership roles at Mississippi State University and holds a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering.
As chancellor, Bruce would serve as chief executive officer of UTC, responsible for advancing academics, student success, research, and community engagement.
