NIL Having Big Impact on College Football Recruitng

Texas A&M landed the top recruiting class in the country, but they’re being accused of using NIL money to do it. Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher denies that’s the reason his staff had so much recruiting success. Whether it’s true or not, NIL is certainly changing the recruiting game.

Said Georgia head coach Kirby Smart: “But what people are doing is they are validating NIL by showing what their current roster makes. And showing what their current players are able to do. And I think sometimes they’re getting misled on the numbers that are actually out there.”

Added Mocs head coach Rusty Wright: “It’s harder because guys are taking preferred walk-ons spots and getting paid to do that. That’s what has changed the game a little bit. That’s my concern of where we are heading. Football. It’s not in a good place right now.”
