No survivors in Huntsville helicopter crash
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WDEF) — A Black Hawk Helicopter crashed Wednesday afternoon near Huntsville, Alabama. CBS News reports that it belonged to the Tennessee National Guard. They said there were no survivors in the crash.
CBS said the crash happened around 3 p.m. central time. It happened just off Highway 53 in Madison County. This was about 10 miles northwest of Huntsville.
The Huntsville Emergency Medical Services said the helicopter burned upon impact.
It is currently unknown how many people were in the crash.
Government officials confirmed to CBS News that the helicopter was military-owned.
Madison County Sheriff’s Office says to expect heavy traffic delays throughout the evening.
