Nokian Tyres plans more growth at Dayton plant

Looking to add 100 jobs in next couple of years

DAYTON, Tennessee (WDEF) – Management at Nokian Tyres say they will continue to grow production and jobs at their new plant in Dayton.

The company says they have almost doubled their workforce there this year.

They went from 175 workers to 325 in 2021.

Their goal is to make four million tires a year when they reach full capacity.

And they plan to announce a new family of tires for SUVs, crossovers and light trucks in January.

“The product will have significant impact on Nokian Tyres’ presence in the North American tire market, where it produces tires at a state-of-the-art factory in Dayton, Tennessee.”

They say the new line will feature new technology to protect drivers and extend their durability.

They company plans to continue their job hiring into the next two years, adding another 100 jobs in Dayton.

“The Dayton Factory is an important part of our company’s growth plan, and our employees are the most important part of our factory,” said Dayton Factory Operations Director David Korda.

“We were thrilled to be able to grow our team this year while deepening our partnerships in the community.”
