Non-Profit Group Donates Coats to Elementary Schools

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — It may not feel like it now, but some kids in Hamilton County are now outfitted for the colder weather.

LaDarius Price and his local non-profit group P.E.A.K. donated more than 40 new coats to students at Woodmore and Orchard Knob Elementary Schools Monday morning.

P.E.A.K. stands for Placing Emphasis Around Kids.

The group has been donating coats to kids for the past three years.

Price says all of the fundraising leading up to Monday’s event makes their hard work worth it.

“We’re just very thankful for everybody just giving from their hearts,” Price said. “A lot of people didn’t want to be mentioned, things of that nature, so to see the smiles on our kids’ faces, and I say our kids because they are our kids, it’s just a blessing. It just brings a lot of joy to my heart, and I’m very, very thankful.”

Price says he hopes to eventually donate new coats to every Hamilton County elementary school.
