North Carolina couple charged with TennCare Fraud
NASHVILLE (WDEF) – The state of Tennessee is charging a couple from the North Carolina mountains with using their health care program.
The Office of Inspector General accuses Laura and Alex Pickelsimer of using a Tennessee address to apply for TennCare benefits.
They say TennCare paid more than $47,277 to the couple in fees and claims.
The Pickelsimers are being prosecuted in the 10th Judicial District of Southeast Tennessee covering Polk, Bradley, McMinn and Monroe Counties.
“OIG prides itself in protecting Tennessee’s great citizens and their important tax dollars,” Inspector General Kim Harmon said. “We will continue to pursue those attempting to take advantage of our Medicaid system and bring them to justice.”
