North Murray QB Seth Griffin Enjoys Phenomenal Night in Win Over Pickens

Chatsworth, GA-(WDEF-TV) North Murray senior quarterback Seth Griffin had a game for the ages last Friday against Pickens. He threw for 395-yards, and he ran for 178 with seven touchdowns. The Mountaineers needed every ounce of Griffin’s performance because they won the game 54-50.

Said Griffin: “I heard the stats after the game, and I was shocked a little bit.”
Said Head Coach Preston Poag:”Stats like that are hard. I mean when you throw for that many yards and run in a game that you needed it all. People asked me at the start of the year what are you going to do different with Seth. The one think I said was I’m going to run him more because he’s just big.”
Said Griffin: “Last year I didn’t really. I rushed for like 350 yards the whole season. So rushing for almost 200 in one game was pretty shocking.”
Said Poag: “I mean you watch the film he ran all over the field. Not just when he gained yards, but he extended plays, and he got rid of the ball at times and put pressure on them. Stuff like that wins games for you when it comes down to it.”
Said Griffin: “I will say ever since I’ve been playing high school football, this is the most tired I’ve felt after a game.”
Said Poag: “Yeah I called him today. It was like 11 o’clock. He said I am still so sore. I said it will take you another day. We’ll get you moving around a little bit today.”
Reporter: “What would be your dream game?
Said Griffin: “I think my dream game would be state championship. I don’t really care about the stats, but the state championship would probably be my dream game.”
Reporter: “Is the sky the limit for this kid?”
Said Poag:”I think so. He’s a big kid. He’s a big quarterback that weighs close to 200 pounds. Got big hands. And a great kid. Great student. 4.0 student. A guy that you want to represent your program.”
