This ballet has been coming to Chattanooga for decades.
A modern take on the performance took place at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium for two shows on December 23.
Dancers from companies around the world were featured in the ballet.
Local dance company, Ballet Esprit, had around 25 dancers in the show.
Founder and Artistic Director Sarah Yvonne said, “Just knowing that we’re merging a local community with the greater, global community… it impacts us. Knowing that we’re doing something bigger. It gives the kids a moment to reflect on the greater perspective of art in our community– and how we affect the world with what we’re doing here.”
Two packed shows were offered Saturday at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
The family-friendly event was hosted by the Tivoli Theatre Foundation.
Other upcoming shows can be found online at Tivoli Chattanooga.
