Officer injured after tree falls on patrol car on Hixson Pike
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A tree fell onto a Chattanooga Police officer’s patrol vehicle on Thursday morning.
The officer was patrolling on Hixson Pike at around 8 a.m. when the tree fell on his car. He was unable to get out on his own, so he called for assistance.
Chattanooga officers and firefighters responded to help. Ultimately, a Public Works employee clearing debris with a front-end loader helped lift the tree off the car.
At that point, the officer was able to exit the car.
Hamilton County EMS took the officer to a local hospital. CPD said he had minor injuries.
