One arrested after assault incident at Tyner Middle School

TYNER, Tenn. (WDEF) —  One person has been arrested after an assault incident at Tyner Middle School.

The School Resource Deputy (SRD) responded to the front of the school at approximately 2:10 p.m. regarding a reported fight.

Upon arrival, the SRD found two adult males fighting, and called for additional sources.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department (HCSO) stated it was later determined one of the males was a parent of a student, and the other male was the students teacher.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the parent came to the school to confront the teacher about, “comments he allegedly made about his child’s hair and appearance,” according to HCSO.

The parent, Jeremy Mitchell, was then taken into custody.
