Sheriff’s office charges Dunlap man with homicide of wife
UPDATE:
The Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office has released more information on a homicide that occurred in Dunlap, including the identities of the victim and suspect.
Deputies arrested 63-year-old Keith Edward Kopecky for the homicide of his wife.
The sheriff’s office said Kopecky called to report that he had shot his wife.
Authorities identified the victim as 64-year-old Marcella “Marcy” Renee Ervin.
Deputies took Kopecky into custody and found Ervin dead inside the house. The state medical examiners will perform an autopsy.
The sheriff’s office said they have charged Kopecky with criminal homicide.
The couple were the only ones who lived in the home. Kopecky told deputies they were married, but the victim did not take his last name.

SEQUATCHIE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A homicide occurred in Dunlap on Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the call of a shooting at 4:30 p.m. on October 3. It happened at 47 Windridge Drive in Dunlap.
Deputies said once they arrived, one of the residents of the house had died from a gunshot wound.
The sheriff’s office said they took the other resident into custody during the investigation.
Sequatchie County authorities are waiting to release more information after they notify the family of the victim.
