One dead in Dade County house fire
DADE COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — A portion of Murphy Hollow Road in Dade County was closed on Saturday due to a deadly fire.
A house caught fire in the morning hours of October 28, near the 2800 block of Murphy Hollow Road.
The Dade County Emergency Management asked the public to avoid the area as crews worked the fire.
The road did open back up later that day.
One person died in the fire, according to Dade authorities.
They have not identified the person who died from the fire.
It is also unclear what caused the fire at this point.
Several agencies assisted, including Trenton-Dade County Fire, North Dade Fire and Rescue, Davis Volunteer Fire Department, New Home Fire Department, the Dade County Sheriff’s Office, Dade County Coroner’s Office and the Georgia State Fire Marshall.
