One dead in Hixson fire Saturday

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  A mobile home caught fire in Hixson Saturday night, taking the life of one man.

The Chattanooga Fire Department said the fire took place at around 11 p.m. Saturday on Dayton Boulevard. They said the fire was at Smitty’s Park in Hixson.

Neighbors reported the fire, according to the fire department. Upon arrival, the fire department said heavy smoke and flames were coming through the windows of the home.

They said they found one man who was deceased inside the home. The CFD said they are currently not identifying the man.

The fire department said they are investigating to determine what caused the fire.
