One dead in Wilson Street shooting Monday morning

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A deadly shooting happened Monday morning in Chattanooga.

According to the Chattanooga Police Department, shots were fired around 8:30 a.m. It happened at 2104 Wilson Street, according to Hamilton County 911. This is in a neighborhood near Dodson Avenue.

Police have not yet identified the victim.

“We do have our homicide unit. And we do know it appears that the victim was shot,” said Chattanooga Police PIO Victor Miller. “So, we don’t have all of the information. But, in a case like this, we are right now working it as a homicide until we have other information that would lead us to believe that it was not.”

This is still an ongoing investigation, according to CPD.
