One-year-old child shot in Chattanooga
UPDATE:
Chattanooga Police found the toddler and gave first aid until EMS arrived. EMS then took the child to a local hospital for treatment.
The child’s injury was non-life-threatening.
According to police, a family member reached for a purse that held the gun. At this time, the unsecured firearm discharged. It struck the child in the leg.
The CPD said they are still investigating the incident.
They have not filed any charges yet.
However, officers urge gun owners to properly secure their firearms, especially around children.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A one-year-old child was shot on Monday, according to the Chattanooga Police Department.
Police said the boy does not have life-threatening injuries.
It happened on the 2500 block of Ocoee Street, near Dodson Avenue.
Officers are investigating the incident. They will release more details once they are available.
